Are you kidding me? Why would the Yankees do it this way.Don't get me wrong, I hate the Yankees so this is good news for me, but I did like Torre before he took the Yankee job so I am sad for Joe.It was a classless act offering him less money. This isn't the Royals or the Marlins, these are the Yankees, the richest team in the league? If they didn't want Joe back, they should have had the b@lls to fire him.I know if Joe wants to manage again, he will. Goodbye Joe or should I say see you later.

Thats pretty shocking I dont know whats up with steinberber. Its not torries fault the players couldnt produce. Plus if steinberner wants to go to the world series again he needs to take a page out of the boston redsox book and get pitching instead of bats because like the redsox proved pitching will always beat out a hot bat which is why there in the world series.

The Yankees doing what The Red Sox did to succeed? Wow that is a huge change.

They did offer him a job, he refused and said he was done. At least that's what they say on Sportscenter the other night.

Yes he was offered the job but with a pay cut, true there are many, many of us that will love to have 5 million a year, but it was an insult to Torre and I am glad that he turned them down.He gets to leave the train wreck the Yankess have become and the Yankees get to become worse before they can get better.

I wouldn't have expected that but it happens. I think to tell you the truth Joe wanted to leave probably on his own terms. I think he's done a good job as a manager and he'll get in the Hall of Fame, most likely as a Yankees manager since he's known for that most. I really don't understand why they offered him less money. They made the playoffs every season since 1995 and the offer could have been higher. I agree, I would like to have a $5 million a year job no question about it. Joe was all ready going to be a free agent so I'm not sure what the point would have been to fire him if he wasn't gonna return the next year anyway.
