Does anyone know how to get rid of mushrooms?

I have some very aggressive mushrooms that started growing in my yard. I don't know where they came from. I've pulled them up but they seem to come back. Any suggestions?

If you're talking about toadstools, then don't even think about taking the advice that I'm about to give you... However, if you know your mushrooms (as I do), one of the best ways to remove them from your yard is to pick them, prepare them, and eat them! YUMMY! The morel (sponge) mushrooms are distinctive to where they don't look at all like toadstools, so you'd be safe to eat those. The serpent mushrooms look more like toadstools, but even they are distinctive. Still, if you didn't know your mushrooms, it might be wise not to eat them. But you can feel safe in eating the sponge ones--as well as the button mushrooms you get in stores, either fresh (where they're usually very large) or canned. One bunch of mushrooms I didn't eat was when water had leaked from a washer belonging to my aunt and uncle (who stayed in the north part of my home a few months out of each year many years ago) and grew some "mushrooms" on the shag carpeting in there.

Try bleach. Mushrooms grow in mycillium. Certain bacteria create this environment perfect for the mushrooms. If you kill the growing medium the mushrooms will not be able to grow there. Mushrooms produce thousands of spores so it is probably going to be difficult to eradicate them by picking unless you get them before they open. Good Luck
