Today is Dussehra

Dussehra - Preparation are being made to burn effigied of Ravan, Kumbkaran and Megnadh.

We have celebrated Dussehra today. In the morning we performed puja of Shakti, the power. On this day Shri Ram killed Ravana. People burn effigy of Ravan, which is symbolic of the victory of good over evil. In spiritual sense it means that we should burn the evils in our thoughts, words and actions.

So this festival of yours sounds like some ghost festival that we have in the middle of lunar July each year in memory of the ancestors and also drive away the evils from coming into our houses. I guess?

I just want to wish you a happy and fabulous time over this celebration ! I like what you say here about the victory of good over evil, thats a great goal to aspire to in anyones book.Thoughts and actions can so easily become low if we dont remind ourselves to strive for the best in all our actions.Thanks for sharing :)
