Do you think Recreational drugs in sport are Performance enhancing?

There has been much media lately regarding some sporting figures here in Australia. I have been following a lot of discussions on the matter and many people believe recreational drugs are not performance enhancing. I disagree as some will allow you to not feel pain, make you feel invincible etc. What do you think?
