what common names do you give your dogs?

My brother likes to name his dogs with people's names like Tisha or Alex or Chi Chi. Why not name the dog Scar or Vader or Zena? One time, I met my boyfriend's brother. They just had a baby and while taking a picture of the whole group, someone said "smile Alex!", instead of smiling, I giggled which in my opinion made me look like an idiot in the picture. How about you, what names do you give your pets and the reason/s why you've given them that name?
