Where do people get their information? Devil worship? Since when does wearing a costume constitute devil worship? Since when does believing in "spirits" mean it has to be about evil? Anyone here heard of the HOLY SPIRIT? Or how about ALL HALLOW'S EVE the night before ALL SAINTS DAY. I think Hallowen is FUN, and I think people take too many things WAY TOO SERIOUSLY! I think it's fun to dress up in a costume and be something completely different for a night. I think it's fun to hang out with your friends and be able to express yourself through creative clothing for one night out of the year. I'm sorry, but I spent m childhood trick or treating, and I STILL wear costumes every halloween. It's a chance for me to be someone different for a day. And it has NOTHING TO DO WITH THE DEVIL! This is straight from Wikipedia: The modern holiday of Halloween has its origins in the ancient Gaelic festival known as Samhain (pronounced /'s?aun?/ from the Old Irish samain). The Festival of Samhain is a celebration of the end of the harvest season in Gaelic culture, and is regarded as 'The Celtic New Year'.[2] Traditionally, the festival was a time used by the ancient pagans to take stock of supplies and slaughter livestock for winter stores.

Dawn I do not believe in halloween as far as ghosts and goblins either...I was raised that it was evil too and i use to let my children trick or treat when they were small but they also knew that we did not believe in all the evil stuff.Later when the kids got older they would have a little party for the kids at church where they would do a hayride or have apple bobbing and games and pass out candy..I realize it is a pagan holiday. These days i do not celebrate at all..I live in the country and no kids come here so i don't have to pass out candy anymore..

The tradition of Halloween does not exist in Romania. It was recently imported as another reason to party and get drunk. That is why I hate what Halloween represents around here. On the other hand I respect the true spirit of Halloween as an American tradition.

I am not crazy about Halloween. Espically knowing it is a holiday for devil worship. Years ago when I was a kid. My mother took me and my sister trick or treating. I haven't really cared much for it since I learnd it was for people worshiping satan.

I do not want to give the dentist more work. I went through enough when I went trick and treating. Now that I am grown up and a Christian I do not like Halloween. It is predicated on people having to dress in costumes to protect themselves against demons that come out once a year (as if they are sleeping and lolling around the rest of the time) It is an old Celtic custom that has come through the ages. At least in England, they had Guy Fawkes Day and that was to celebrate an actual event. What our church does is celebrate Reformation Day because that was when Martin Luther mailed his theses complaining against indulgences and when the actual Protestant Reformation began.
