5 year old has an attiude

Hi, the last couple days my son been very naugty. He hasnt been able to go to school becuase of surgery so i htink that may be why. He likes to go and he has to drink alot and we have to make him and then he throws a fit. He also dont like taking his pain meds and will lie and say he not hurt when u can tell he is.

Hi Dee351972! Oh, sorry to hear that your son went into surgery. I hope he will recover soon. Kids do sometimes have this kind of fit or tantrums especially when they are in pain or maybe when they are bored just being in bed. But your son is very brave in not wanting to take pain medications unlike me who is a grown up is scared of pain. LOL! Take care and hoping your son will recover soon. Have a nice day.

THanks he is doing ok. I think it just cuss he bored and he wants what he cant have.lol But he still a cutie. Thanks again

Hahaha, that is so funny. When you ain't the parent that is. I am a social worker and at university we referred to that age as the NO age. Believe me, this is nothing serious, just a phase he has to get through. I think instead of fighting him to get him to drink and take his medicine, you will be better of trying to play with him to make him take it. Play some sort of games or role plays with him where drinking and taking the meds is included. Dont worry, it can be tough on the parents but it will go over. Good luck with the playing. :)

Thanks. we have tried playing some, yes that does help some. He is doing little better now. Today i dont have to force him to drink he taking it on own so that is good. Thanks again!!
