Really it all depends on how mature your child is for their age. Most kids start having sleepovers when they are around eight or nine years old because they are nearing puberty and their hormone levels are starting to change. I really wouldn't recommend a sleepover for kids younger than six or seven because they aren't mature enough yet to understand what the whole concept of a sleepover is about and what they can actually do at a sleepover.

I think that depends on a few factors really...like where the sleepover will be, how old, responsible/well behaved etc the child is as well as the other child, how much do you know and trust the parents of where your child will be spendign the night and so on....

Really, I think that it all depends on the child and when the child is ready. With that privilage there has to be some maturity I think and they also have to be ready to be away from home all night. It's really difficult when to say the right age is. I know my oldest son is 9 and he still stays home every night, but he's immature for his age. I think to, it also depends on the childs behavior at home. If they act up all the time, can you trust them to go to someone else's home and not? There are many decisions to think about before letting a child take that first step in staying away from home or even having people over.

I think kids can have sleepovers as young as age 5 (maybe only occasionally). However, I think there is definately an age limit!! In middle school and high school I think paents should monitor whom their child is staying with and speak to parents!! I was in high school not too long ago, and my mother could have saved me from a lot of she wasn't so trusting! We would all tell our parents we were staing at each other's house and really be at some party with a bunch of guys!! so be careful!!
