Hi b4, without doing any research on this I would have to say that we can't live without sleep..It is a time for our brain to shut down and reboot, so to speak...Eventually our body will give in and sleep would be inevitable. I sleep sometimes for 20 hours..I think I sleep too much though..

Yes we can if we some other source of oxygen which can provide rest to the body. But all of us do need sufficient sleep or else we can't do with it. But yogis can do without it sure. They hardly sleep for days. Meditation reduces sleep as well.

of course, no one can live without sleeping. in fact, this is not the problem, even if someone could live without sleeping just like in X-files, but they really feel tired and they want to go to bad. i see that you sleep about 10 hours a day, you must never know the afflict those people who can not sleep.

Absolutely not! We need it to refresh ourselves and regain the lost energy we spend during the day. It is also the best time when our mind can rest from thinking.

Generally, no one can ever survive without sleeping for several days. Our physical bodies need rest and time to refresh or recharge from loss of energy. We become sleepy because our body cells are tired or its energy has been totally used up. We feel our bodies are drained out of nutrients and vitamins if we continuously use our body without rest and sleep. If the machines we are using tend to stop functioning it's because they are overworked, the same thing goes with our bodies.

No, we cannot live without sleep. Mine is for 5 hours per day, minimum. We are human with human characteristics. As sleeping is our physical rest to equilibrates the oxygen and energy intake as an input or supply. The equilibrium is very important, less supply of energy with high demand of usage will lead us to be fainted. Sleep is a must for human being.

I don't think its possible nowadays to survive without sleeping.. We all need to relax after a hard day's work.. And if we don't do that, it wud get difficult for us to get going...

Sleep is necessary to recharge your body and to remove all the stress and tensions from your mind which shortens your life. A normal person can hardly survive for 2-3 days without sleep. You can answer yourself whether you are a normal person or some sort of Aliens.

Hello, It is the true that we cannot live without sleep. But if we practice meditation we need not sleep 10 hours.only 5 hours sleep is sufficient.Because we get enromous energy while doing meditation.
