The very best series book I have ever read and was literally "can't put it down" status was the saga set by Fern Michaels. It tracks the family through the decades - ending in the early 1990's. First trilogy is Kentucky Heat, Kentucky Rich, Kentucky Sunrise. I didn't like this one tho, but maybe it was just me The MOST FANTASTIC TRILOGIES ARE:the next set in the saga LAS VEGAS HEAT, LAS VEGAS RICH AND LAS VEGAS SUNRISE. The the last trilogy of the family TEXAS, HEAT, TEXAS RICH, TEXAS FURY AND TEXAS SUNRISE (has one more than the others) I can't say enough about the last two sets - Las vegas and Texas The way the author makes each and every character so life like and human. It tracks the famliy members through the years and the yeats that aren't explicitly "spoken for" in the story are amazingly referred to and recouped as it pertais to the character. - I literally sat and read the last one through in one sitting - hours, but I literally couldnt' put it down! I have never read anything better!

Don't get discouraged if you read Kentucky set and don't like it. I found the first Texas one at the library sale where they sell books 10ยข before they throw them away. I forget which one it was but it was fantastic. then in reading the stuff at the end, I learned ther were 2 others to the series. I watech until I found those too! The Texas set was amazing!. Then one dat the the library I was looking for fren michaels and found 2 Vegas ones Looked at them and couldn't believe it this was the time span BEFORE the Texas ones for the same family! I grabbed them and then found the 3rd on in the set. I didn't read either set "in order" but I was still able to understand the chronology and all. I later went back and but them in order and read them again! Second time around and they were still "can't put it downers". Probably 2 years went by and I stumbled on the Kentucky set at a yard sale. I have them, have not read all three as the first one was so boring, i literaly had to force myself to read it. I got through half and still it just wasnt happening for me. I since moved and they are al packed so I haven't beena ble to try again. I did read in the back bout how thie reporter wanted to do a story on a character and in his thoughts he refered to later happenings in the VEgas and Texas books. My point - if you start with Kentucky (and this is just my opinion, others may have loved it)and get bored or they aren't very good, find the Vegas and Texas. The series starts with Kentucky, then a female family member leaves Kentucky and ends up in Las Vegas. Near the end of hte last book, she learns that her brother is in Texas and the Vegas series ends with her and her family getting togehther with the Texas branch of the family. I read the series backwards and it was great, so reading it in order can only enhance it But... if you only read one set, it doesn't leave you with wonderig what happened or waht are they talking about. FM wrote it so well, the yes, there are references to prior things, but she sums the events up so well in a few paragrapsh, that you got the idea and aren't left wondering. But if you read them backwards it was fun to read someting and then say "Oh, yeah,I remember him talking about that in the Texas book" or something like theat.

Ok, I think the gods of reading are trying to tell me something. This is the third time that I have heard about these series in the last two weeks. I just put Kentucky Heat on hold at the library so I can give it a try! The first Fern Micheals book that I read was the new one Up Close and Personal. I loved it!

I have a few books I can recommend to you that I think you would just love! :) Here they are: Riptide by Catherine Coultir: This is a very well written book! It has a lot of suspense and action! Plus, it adds some humor in the mix, I remember laughing at some parts in this book, even though I haven't read it for a while! Contest by Matthew Reilly: This book is...AMAZING!! It had TONS of action and shocks! I finished this book in 2 days because I just could not put it down!! :) ++++ Highly recommend!+++++ The Marine (can't remember author X.X-John Cena is on cover! lol): this book had a lot of action. It is A LOT better than the movie. I hated the movie, LOVED the book! This book had me laughing so hard, a lot! Through out the whole thing! Lots of humor + excitement! :) *If you want to know the synopsis' of these books just let me know right here and I'll add them! :)*

i'm just finishing "God's Delusion" by Richard Dawkins. I think it's a very good book. Everyone should read and then decide if they really want to continue with the several churches brainwashing.

I tried reading that book because the premise sounded great. Unfortunately I couldn't get into it. Maybe I should try it again as I have been hearing such great things about it.

The Kite Runner - A fantastic read.
Have you read The Kite Runnner. It is a fantastic book. Also A Thousand Splendid Suns is by the same author and it was fantastic. Both books are set in Afganastan and depict the life of the people during Talaban rule. They are eye opening books that are must reads. I couldn't put either of them down.

For humor, I'd recommend Bill Bryson. He's got a nice, dry wit and writes very vivid descriptions---obviously he exaggerates, but the stories he tells are so funny that you have to forgive him for it. He does a lot of travel related books, like the one I'm currently reading called "Notes From a Small Island", about his trip around the UK before he went home to America. It's one of my favorites!
