The 2010 edition of football World Cup will be held in African continent for the first time in history, spesifically in South Africa. But there are lots of controversies already, ranging from security issues, ground/stadium preparation etc. Will South Africa will manage to solve all the problems and make it be the best World Cup ever or it will be a total flop? What do you think?

I think the playing surface will be just fine. South Africa has some pretty good stadiums for rugby, and they'll probably build a couple more. I don't think the services will be at the highest standards, though...I mean, is South Africa ready to provide the best transportation, lodgings or security for such an event? I don't think so. It certainly won't be the best World Cup. Let's just hope it won't be the worst.

I certainly agree with you. As football world cup is the most watched event in the world, South Africa will do their best not to embarrass themselves in front of the world. But will their best effort is enough? Only time will tell

Actually, I don't really care all that much what happens to the people that go to this World Cup, because I'll only be watching it from TV. So I only care what happens on the pitch.

I have to say this it a tough one. As many of you know, the first world cup was done in Uruguay, and yes, we only have on stadium and at the time it wasn't such a big event. I believe that with the money given by sponsors and other contributors, the world cup in south africa can be an amazing event. Even if they cut on some money from the fireworks, they will have enough money for another stadium. I mean, honestly, do we need so much flare? The games should be what make the world cup amazing, not the inaugural event! Good luck to Africa though, I really hope they can show the world that unlike common belief, Africa is not a ground for Safari's and HIV.

The overall World Cup will be great, but the team performance will be down. The same teams we're used to seeing win will win and there will not be that one Cinderella team that fans love to watch advance with little hope but a lot of heart towards winning. Nowhere near 2002.

It will be a flop. South Africa has not the potential to arange such a big tournament.
