I don't even know where to start. First off I do thank you from the bottom of my heart for your prayers. My moms surgery did go well, she is recovering from the surgery. She is sore, but is not in too much pain. The first few days were rough, she had a chest tube in and the tube is big. Now that, that is out she does feel better. On to the rest, everything else went haywire. She hasn't been doing good. at first they thought she might have had a stroke, they haven't totally ruled that out yet. They don't think that is what it is. She has had alot of confusion, weakness, mumbling. At one point she looked at me and didn't know who I was. That was scary and heartbreaking all at the same time. The confusion is better, but still comes and goes. Her sodium is low and they said that can make you confused. They are giving her that in an IV, thay have to go slow, if they don't, it can cause even more problems. She is sleep deprived too, that doesn't help. Now I just learned that they have to give her blood, her hemoglobin is way low. I ask for your continued prayers. We ask her where she is, she says LA LA land. I know the feeling, that where it feels my head has been. Thank you all, they originally thought she would be in the hospital maybe 3 days. She has been there since Tuesday. Monday they are going to do an EEG. She has been in bed all this time, so her recovery for getting up and about will take longer. I will be going to stay with her when she does get out. So you all will know where I am if no one hears from me. Take care all and thanks so much, it does help knowing I have friends praying for my mom. (and me too).

Yes I understand all too well the good feeling people are there and sre actually praying for you. I'm thinking your Mom has gone through the worst at this point, and once they have her on her feet it's all good after that. Good that you will be looking after your Mom for awhile at home, we'll try to not miss you but I for sure will say prayers for both of you. Sometimes we wonder why we are faced with such big problems. You have my best always.

I will send you and your mom good vibes! It can be very frustrating for both of you when they can't figure out what is wrong. Make sure you take care of yourself. When you are worrying about something, you tend to ignore you own health and well being, and it would be bad if you got sick. So, take care.

I am so glad that her surgery went well. I see that this was written four weeks ago, so I trust that she is well enough to not need her help now? Family is so very important.

Hi polly, Try very hard not to be discouraged...These problems that your Mom is having can be a normal thing in a lot of cases..First off, your mom had a very major surgery, and at that time she was Not in real good health ...It is not unusuall to lose a lot of blood during surgery, and im sure she is very tired....The confusion can be caused by many things ,but im sure that will clear up,medication can cause a lot of confusion..She probably saw you and did not connect you because she was in a state of confusion at the time...I just had a total knee replacement myself some 3 weeks ago,now this is a major surgery but not as major as what your Mom has had..I needed blood too,and i was weak, tired and did not function well afterward...My throat was killing me,my nose bled for a week, i had no appetite...When they put you to sleep they are breathing for you,and the stuff they use can cause you to be confused,i was confused also..It causes you a lot of problems later,It affects your chest too.they came in and tried to give me breathing treatments and i could not do them...Its been three weeks since my surgery and im just now getting back to normal..EEg"s are a normal procedure,i doubt that your mom had a stroke at all.My brother had a very bad open heart surgery,he was so bad that they was afraid he would die before they got him into the operating room...He went through these same symtoms your mom is having .he had a valve replaced and 4 bypasses, today he is in very good health..I will continue to pray for your mom but try to be incouraged because i feel she will be ok,but it takes time...Thank you for the update and we will all pray togeather for your moms recovery....Please continue to keep us updated...
