The internet has come a long way. A lot of people work from home. Telecommuting have its own pros and cons. For the most part, you can save money by saving on gas or fare. one of the cons is that you do not get to see others...so less physical interaction with co-workers. Another reason is you can get easily distracted. Sometimes the pros outweighs the cons and vice versa. For me, I would rather work from home or telecommute... but another part of me likes being at work with other people for social interaction. How about you?

True, it have pros and cons. the best part is you can work at home, with family and also are not bound to tight schedules. Interaction with co-workers are the essential part of success of a project on the other hand. So I guess there must be a balance between these two .

Yep, so maybe a partial work from home would be the best option. :)

I am able to telecommute with my job one day out five. It has saved my 400 miles a month on the wear of my car, as well as money for fuel. I have cut 10 hours of sitting in traffic. I am able to focus more while working at home because i don't get interupted by people needing help, phone calls, ect.. I just made a propoal to my boss and he decided to try it out. It showed more production at my end for sure.

Good point. I am the same way, since I cut down on my commute, I spend more hours working when I am at home so I get a lot of things done. I work from home Mon and Fri...I have people reporting to me who work from home daily. I allow it because they work nights. I try to find a way to get them to the office at least once every 2 months to get the social interaction with the rest of the team.
