I was wondering if there is the best way to treat or avoid depression? In my case im not that always depress. But sometimes sadness just come into my mind and all of my feeling all go together and send messages that i am sad and depress until my Aunite told me that depression with crying is not good it is bad. Bad Luck as she said from then i avoid to be sad and cry. Not that so strong but better than before. i dont know if it is healthy but i think this is another reason why im strong now.

When I go into depression, I just sit and meditate. It's hard initially to concentrate, but I try hard and meditate and fight against my feelings. It does take some time. But at least the thought of throwing myself at the feet of the Lord, makes me feel much better and gives me a lot of strength. I derive strength only from one single source which is God. And I get it from meditating on Him.

I often tell my intimate friends when I feel stressful or sad .Sometimes I choose to cry in the midnight alone.I mean that when you depress, you have to do something to escape from that bad feeling.Anyway you like you can try.

I have been battling depression for awhile now. What I do is talk to my husband, read, listen to my favorite cds, go to my therapist when I can, and exercising.

When we are in depression we are suposed to cry or get angry to simple things. We ourselves should be cool and maintain the temper not to cry. Because each drop of a tear is more value. As per me if I feel depressed I sit calm for sometimes or I go away to over site and spend my time. I advise my students not to cry for anything that you have not got it.

There're several thing I used to do : -Listening to my fave musics -Asking for friends/family suggestions -thinking about something nice in the past and try to forget what make me being depressed -Read some funny stories from the net -Take a deep breath several times -Spend my spare times going shopping, playing your hobbies (mine is billiard) -One of the most effective way I think is go holiday, if possible with people that you really happy with, I don't suggest to go alone because it'll make you keep thinking about your problem while in the destination place. Hope this might help you.

When depression hits me I tried so many thing to get rid out of it. They said eating chocolates and ice cream is a good anti-depressant. I cried a lot but I didn't help me. I even tried smoking but the effect of smoking is not good, it's only for a moment that you'll not feel the sadness. The best remedy I did is talking horizontally and vertically. Talking vertically is talking to people around you, to your friends, colleagues, relatives or boyfriend/girlfriend. But the best way is to talk vertically, talk to one up above. Talk to Him. (=

I have read some comments. I have dealt with this my whole life. It is very apparent to me that it is a everyday battle that you have to keep fighting. I just went through a time of depression, lots of sleeping and not much energy. Finaly I had to get tough with my doctor, and once they cut down a medication and tried a new one I feel totally diffrent. Not that medicines will magically change you, but if you are in a rut you may have to stay on top of your doctor because they don't seem to know what actually goes on when you are away from them.
