food do you always cook & prepared every christmas and new years eve

Oh in my family we cook a lot for christmas and for new years eve.My mom would bake cookies one week before and then put them to the box.We would go buy all kinds of fruits and nuts and other yummy things.And we cook fish soup, what is family receipt and then we would have at least three kinds of salat(potatoe, carrots with celery, mixed) and fried carp.Oh I love it so much.And after that we will eat all those cookies and cakes and I would get really full :) For new Silvester we would have the very similar, but the cabage soup and then for new years eve we would have a beef most of the time.Beucase there is a myth, you should eat a fish becuase you luck would swimm away from you and you cannot eat a chicken because the luck would fly from you away.Crazy, isn't it?

I don't really have anything that I cook for New Years every year. I do love to have Chinese food on January 1 though. As for Christmas, I usually go with a standard turkey dinner. Sometimes I'll do ham instead, but personally I prefer turkey. So turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, broccoli, gravy, rolls, any other veggies I'm in the mood for and of course a veritable buffet of desserts.

My favorite food to prepare during Christmas and always present during that occasion is Meatballs Spaghetti.
