If you need something portable, invest in a laptop (ASUS, Gateway, Sony, Toshiba). If you don't need anything portable, invest in a desktop. You can also customize the desktop and upgrade it easier than a laptop. Here go some from a site I use. Newegg.com Laptops Top sellers http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=2030260032+4802&name=Top+Sellers Featured page http://www.newegg.com/Store/SubCategory.aspx?SubCategory=32&name=Notebooks-Laptops Desktops Top sellers http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=2032280010+4802&name=Top+Sellers Featured Page http://www.newegg.com/Store/SubCategory.aspx?SubCategory=10&name=Desktop-PCs Even though I'm not the best, I'll give some general pointers to help you. If you do office work and some gaming at least have some of the following. - A suitable chip (Pentinum 4 3.0ghz or better) or a reasonable AMD subsitute. - 1028 RAM at least - Hard drive size should be 80 GB or more, that should be easy. - Good video chip (NVIDIA is usually the supported brand of high gaming) - DVD writer definitely. Complement with a USB flashdrive. - Suitable monitor able to handle the video card and the game itself of course. In the end, just be a kid in an online candy store! Browse, surf, look at reviews and enjoy.

If you have decided to go for a laptop, then price may be one of the important aspects in selecting. You should consider the configuration of the laptop while keeping in mind the price. Some of the good brands in the market are Toshiba, HP, Dell et.. See to that, that you are having a service center of that brand in your locality which is also important. If once you decide the brand which you are going to select, then go to their website, do a comparative study to compare the prices and the configuration and make a good decision. Happy purchase!
