See I think they should release it when Gen X-Y-Z is in the 30s and 40s. (If humanity makes it that far, knock on wood). I mean Forrest Gump was a review of several of US and world historical events from the eyes of one individual, about 40 or so years right? I'd think the sequel would have to reflect the same thing. One thing that might be done is to just "predict" what those 30-40 years in the future will be like but I'd say that would make the sequel a dive. If it was a real recap of things that actually happened with the same storytelling as the first, then I could see it working.

hmmmm... it does not have to be a recap... are you not excited how forrest gump jr. looks at the world with his father on his side?

Yes, that would be fun. We in anycase need a break from the so many super-heroes doing the rounds.. Tom hanks can play it again, but in that case they should show him telling some more experiences from his life. I would not mind if ADAM SANDLER is chosen for the role, he can definately be a equally good 'Stupid Good Man'.. what say?

yeah, i agree. we definitely need a break from these superheroes and fantasy tales. i think forrest gump made us touch base on the basic stories of humanity (struggle for life, meaning, companionship, friendship, etc.) these are the values that we cherish. tom hanks can always bring more to that.

My first reaction was that I would like to see another Forrest Gump movie. After reading some of the other posts, though, I think I agree that a sequel would not be as good. Yeah, I think I will vote against a Forrest Gump 2.

if it's good, it can be better.. i always believe that the fear of failure or not keeping with the expectation normally impede us from pursuing what we want - or happiness. i'd be happy to see another forrest gump running, playing, raising kids.. why not? i think the fans deserve another one treat from forrest gump. As he says, "i may not be smart, but i know what love is." i simply love this movie.. another one plzz

thanks for the comment. some concerns about making a part 2 is that it will ruin its originality. i don't buy this idea and concern. do you think so too?

I dont really think Forest Gump left any room for there to be a sequel. If anything i think that a sequel would take away from the magnificent story. Furthermore i dont think that the book left any room for more of a story.

For me, i don't need forrest gump 2. I think the story forrest gump already concluded it self. Little forest will do just very fine with his life. Forrest senior will stay as he is. And life is still like a box of chocolate, you'll never know what you're gonna get.
