k i need this answer from all you guys, firstly when i say discussion i domt mean the whole discussison ie what other people responded and all ,all i am asking is that when you replay back to a discussion do you read the whole thing of that author has written before you reply to the discussion i get so many responses saying/asking the same thing that i have already mentioned in my discussion. which makes me very confident that many of the people dont even read the discussion and just see the g=heading and reply back i personally dont think its a good thing to do cuz ,as is the case with me i have reply back with same things againa nd again in the same discussion to everyone who replies back WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK??? thanx and tc

Most of the time, I responded to a discussion without reading the whole discussion. I just tried to answer the questions raised below. But when it is only a respond to my response I tried to read the whole thing first so that i can get an idea on what to say back again. :)

yeah, you can't really expect everybody to understand what you are trying to stress. Wrong interpretation usually occurs to the type of words and adjective we were using. But it is understandable and it is not a big deal for me. :)

I do read the discussions... there is no point in answering if a better answer has been given. But if I think that I can add more to the discussion, I will answer anyway, adding my experiences to the others to try to give the poster a more balanced viewpoint.

Honest truth.. Sometimes i dont I just go half way coz they must admit..they just copy the same title to others and you get the same reply. But, if there is something new to me, I really give so much of my time giving a nice good comment or good reply to that certain discussion.

It all depends. The more interesting the topic the more I'll read. However you come to know who is going to answer how. For example: there is a discussion about what priod of time would you like to rewind your country to. You get some people that are not historically well read, some scoff at any mention of time travel, others only answer part of the question, a couple will trail-off but most have something to add even if it is echoed in other responses.Youhave to understand those whom you respond to and get responses from.

very coreect but being so many here,it gets difficult to understand everyone,,so thats why it becomes very important for everyone to read the whole iscussion rather than scimming and scanin the thing

I always read everything that concerns about me and the person I am talking to, the whole topic and the comments or responses they give to me. There are ocassions that I even take some time before responding to the post (be it a discussion I started or replied to), because I have to make sure that my reaction would be clearly stated and understandable for the people who reads them.

I try to read all the post discussion. I have read some of the responses to post before writing mine but not always. I have made mistakes when answering posts because for some reason I assume a point that was not made. This doesn't mean I did not read the whole post it means I made a mistake. There are people who do make honest mistakes like this. As far as reading the other people post to this discussion doesn't usually change your own opinion. If I have a question about the post I will read others post to see if my question is answered so that I can make a better post. My own post is my opinion and the other posts are the other people opinion. These opinion could be the same or they could be ver different. I think as long as you read the complete discussion you will be ok. You also have to remember that there are many countries and many different languages going on here. If your posters are asking questions just put already answered above or you can just not say anything. Then again you could just thank them for taking the time to try and contribute to your discussion.

Yes, I do but I know many people don't because they are only interested in posting as much as they can. They don't want to spend any time actually reading anything. I think that is a poor way to have a "discussion" for the very reasons you listed. Also the heading doesn't always give enough information to accurately answer. I have started discussions with headings to get attention but with a much deeper subject matter and several questions. I can always tell by the responses who actually took the time to read the whole thing. As for reading the responses...it depends on the discussion. This one I didn't because I had my own opinion and did not need any further comment from you or other people to be able to accurately state how I feel about it. However other discussions are different, usually I will read through the responses on more personal ones. This is because the original poster may have added more information or clarified something. Other people may have given the exact advice I was planning to give and so I would want to add a little more to it. Sometimes if the discussion is not "brand new" but a day or more old, the problem may have changed or been resolved. In those cases I could not give an accurate answer based only on the original post.

Normally the discussion question decides it all - for practically all people. We will just look at the topic question and glance through the content. And as for the follow-up responses, I personally don't (usually) unless the topic is of high interest to me. And there is nothing wrong with giving a "similar" response to the same question. It is just each of our viewpoints and should be respected. :P Btw, if you feel that several responses are similar, you can just choose to address the most e.g. well-written one. You do not need to comment on all - but be nice and rate them plus hopefully (lol) if they give at least decent responses. ^^

I always read what the author of the discussion writes, but I admit I do not always read everything other responders have written. It is important to at least read what the author writes, I mean how can you honestly be responding with any sense, if you have not read the actual question or comment being posed. Take Care... - Mike

When I respond, I read the whole written thing by the author! Otherwise I never respond! Secondly, who ever has responded to my discussion and not read the whole thing I never consider that! Third, I think that those who are not reading the whole discussion and responding based on title line or using few words only, should not respond so that one can make out real responders!

Its always better to read the whole thing before responding back in order to be more interactive and apt.

Yes, I read the whole discussion and make sure that I understood it and then only I reply. Some discussion which i feel that I cannot answer or would not be a genuine answer, then I do not reply. It is really necessary to read the whole content before replying.

Most of the time I get the notification on my email, and from there I answer to the discussion, so most of the times I do not read the whole discussion... or if I do it, it is after I sent my comment...

Hi,there! I do read the entire discussion of the author cause that's a way to understand the author better. But I don't always read all the responses there before I reply. I prefer to read those responses after I rely to the discussion:) Have a good day!
