Share one expensive thing you bought that saved you money in the long run

In our household, we have been buying purified drinking water by the gallon before. The expense was heavy. So. we got a table-top water purifier with a ceramic filter that is only replaced every six months. Now, a year later, I estimate we've saved more money that if we continued buying drinking water.
