Today we had to spend 300.00 on home heating oil. It doesnt last long, maybe about 8 or 9 weeks. How do you heat your home, and how long does it last???

We have forced air gas. I think it's about a 100 - 150 a month or something like that. I know it's much cheaper than electric but not as inexpensive as hot water radiator - I don't remember what that's called exactly. I should go check one of our bills to be sure

We heat with central forced air electric. Our overall electric bill averages out to about 180.00 per month year-round, which is easier for us to pay than having huge bills just in winter. We have 2 refrigerators, 3 computers, and 2 TV's, so those add to the bills! We conserve by supplementing our furnace with small (SAFE!) oil-filled heaters, closing off rooms we don't use, having good insulated windows, and using energy-efficient lightbulbs everywhere.

I get the equal of a 75 watt bulb, and it only burns 15 watts! I don't have to stumble around in a semi-dark house trying to save electricity! We have also put night lights in our bathrooms... we figure that if we can't do THAT in dim light, we have a problem!LOL!

Well apart from paying for the oil every month or so, we have a hugh electric bill. Can never get it down under 150.00. Nobody in this house are I think and get those energy saving light bulbs you mentioned... :-)
