Would you recommend studying abroad?

it has always been my dream to do post-graduate studies abroad, but recently i've been having second thoughts. i'm scared that i won't be able to handle living alone, in a foreign country.. also, it's hard to get scholarships and funding, since i know i won't be able to afford it on my own. what do you think? has anyone out there experienced studying abroad? i would appreciate any tips, or insights into the matter, thank you :)
