Does anyone believe in God?

I feel like I'm a good Christian and it seems like in todays society everyone is trying to ban God. I don't understand it and I think the world has gotten evil since we have taking God out of our Country. When did so many people become so greedy and thoughtless? I have an eleven month old daughter and I'm so scared for her to grow up with all of the crime, hatred and greediness. When I was growing up we didn't have to worry about going to school and being shot because we allowed God in our presence, we didn't worry so much about being kidnapped or people posioning our food and our pets foods. I pray that the society will allow God back so that the world can be a safer place for my daughter.

Carlin once said that "God is an imaginary friend for adults". I think what he meant was not portraying God as a He, She, or anybody with a particualar image, residence, or function, but to use the word "God" to refer to the divine, or the underlying pattern of what really is. We are insignificant, and there is definitely another realm of consciousness that does exist, but it's not like you know the exact person who wrote the good Book, honestly.

All the problems in the world are not caused by a lack of faith in a god, they are cause by people. Human beings with instincts and emotions to control their own decisions and fate..not a god. Everyone has a right to have their own belief, I fully support that notion, but when a religion, or in this case, lack of religion is used as an excuse for human error, I think that is a subtle way of enforcing a religion.

I am an atheist and don't believe in god. People have every right to believe in god I don't really care what others believe. BUT keep it out of the government and schools they are for everyone with all their beliefs and not everyone believes in god so keep in in your homes and churches and keep it out of my government and schools. To each their own but don't shove it in everyone's face. People can be good without god.

I agree that you have the right to believe what you want and I would never shove it in your face. I do pray for people like you every night though. I believe that schools should have the right to say the pledge of allegiance (with God in it) and I think if they want to celebrate Christmas they should be able to. If people like you don't like that then maybe you should home school your child/children. Because we should have the right to do as we please also. Do you celebrate Christmas or Easter? MAY GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY.

I think that if you want god in the schools for your children then send them to a christian school. There are just as many kids of other faiths in school and they shouldn't have to pledge to god when they may not believe. Why should taxpayers all pay the same to send kids to school when the christians are forcing their beliefs on the kids who believe in other things. No I have no kids and I don't celebrate easter and Christmas isn't even anyone's real birthday but a date stolen from an other religion. I celebrate Festivus instead. I'm not saying being a christian is bad but they aren't the only ones on the face of this earth and there beliefs shouldn't be forced into my world. Believe if you want just don't spread it like manure where others who have other beliefs are. Don't bother wasting any time praying for me it won't help.

I'm going to try and say this the best I can....I don't believe that most people push religion on others (yeah there are some that may) but when you get people like you that have your own beliefs come in and say "Well we don't believe so you have to do things the way we want you to, change the way you have been doing things for several hundred years because I'm offended." Too bad....they should have an island where the people that can't tolerate the way things are done can be shipped off there. I agree this is a free country believe what you want and I will believe what I want. If I didn't like or believe in football or something I would not post my opinion on it trying to get others to believe in the way I do. I never asked if anyone was atheist to please come and slam my discussion down. You just act like your beliefs should be the only way that people live. Did my discussion offend you because I mentioned God? If it did then you should have just turned your shoulder and let it go. I don't feel like praying for people like you is a waist of my time so I will continue to pray for you. Have a blessed day. May God Bless you. ; )

Hi dayzz25, it does say that evil will be greater in the last days, but our hope is in Him. What is ironic is the ones who are against G♥d in the country are less than half, more like 30% or less and the church is not standing up for their rights because they no longer know what their rights are. If the people who profess to be Christian would learn what their rights were, we could fight back, but only a remnant will stand up..The problem is, too many are just saying they are Christian, but not really showing it which is another reason people are turning away from G♥d, they don't see Him in people who say they follow Him.. I know what you mean by bringing with children in these days,I have a 5 year old, but we must trust in the L♥rd and know it is all in His hands..:)

Hello Dayzz25 Yes I believe in God and His Son Jesus Christ. I can only say if you change something because it offends one person, you take a chance of offending someone else in the process. As Christians we are to show love and compassion to everyone as Christ has to us. We cannot expect everyone to understand, believe, or agree with our belief, but that does not mean we cannot express ourselves in a positive and loving manner. God's word never is never void, it just takes time in some people. For those who are not believers I respect your desire to not have God "pushed in your face" I was there once myself and hated being "preached to". But you need to remember that just as my beliefs may offend you, taking them from my daily life offends me. We cannot please everyone all the time... - Mike

I'm not very religious, but I do belive in god. I think the reason society is getting rid of god is because everything always has to be so politically correct. People nowadays are way too easily offended by absolutely everything. I personally think its rediculous, but with all the crazy people around, ya never know whats gonna offend someone or what they will do if you do offend them. People need to just relax sometimes, the world isnt out to get them.....

Thank you for your answer. I agree with you when you say people are getting way to offended these days. I don't get offened when someone doesn't believe in God that's their problem not mine. And I don't feel like just because a school wants to celebrate Christmas that it's shoving christianity in the people that don't believes face. Have a great day.

yes, there are people that still believe in the Good God - but those that do not are given a louder voice and their actions are given more attention than those that do. We are in the World, but not of the World - Thy Kingdom come, Thy Will be done on earth AS it is in heaven.. The prince of this earth is having his hay day now - some day that hay will catch on fire.

What ever happened to personal responsibility? People need to be responsible for their thoughts and actions. Believing that someone or something will make the world a better place is irresponsible and dangerous. I do believe in "Infinite Intelligence" and that we all have a personal responsibility to be good. I do not believe in evil, demons, the devil or hell. Those kind of "scare tactics" seem ridiculous to me, and seem to be a huge form of brainwashing people. All people have the right to experience their "God" or way of happiness and comfort in any way they choose. The idea of having the Christian God and belief system as a represenitive and belief system for our entire country is greed, power and control. This singular belief system should not be displayed in public schools or in other public ways.. keyword being PUBLIC. Each persons experience or belief system is perfect for them and there are plenty of ways to learn it, live it and be a part of it... in a personal way and with other "like-minded" people. In most world religions there is one common thread, even if worded differently... "do onto others as you would have them do onto you." Live in that and with good intention and the world will naturally be a better place. What is a "good Christian" by the way? I am just curious?
