Why are many guys so afraid of intelligent girls?

I noticed there are many guys who don't go for girls who are more intelligent than them. Why is this so? Are they turned off or just ashamed of the fact that their girl is more intelligent than them? If a girl is intelligent and beautiful, what should she do so that a guy would not be scared in wooing her? Just curious.

In my opinion, maybe guys feel inferior if the girl they dated is more intelligent than them.. or maybe because of the thought that they may not be accepted by the intelligent girl maybe because the girl has high standards or whatever... But if a guy really wants that girl regardless if she is more intelligent than them or that boy is just stupid, the boy should just do his thing.. go after the girl he wants and see how it goes..

Definitely! :) if the boy really wants a girl, he should just go after her.. first, for friendship.. and then eventually as time goes, that can eventually turn out into something good for them.. like what you said, can blossom/bloom. :)

I have to say I think the opposite is true; it is women that seem scared of intelligent men, perhaps they want men that they can manipulate easily. Often I have 'dumbed' down to get a date. And where are all these beautiful and intelligent women?

I'd rather have an intelligent guy than a dumb rich guy. I'd exchange a full day of glorious intellectual conversation than a day shopping with a stupid guy. Sorry. ^_^
