My computer is not normal these days and i am very poor in computer. Recently i cannot view that task manager and the error i get is "task manager has been disabled by your administrator" and also i have no option to shut down my computer. I get only two options and the two options are log off and switch user. I don't have the option for shut down anymore, and also while starting the computer first it displays the CMD window showing "trying to connect to the host" and my IP is 0.0.0.0 and also some port numbers are displayed. Have anyone faced those troubles please help me if you have any suggestions. I don't want to reboot my computer. I think this trouble arised after i tried to download some serial keys from a site called serial99.com. As right now also in the task bar it shows "mylot - serial99.com" on my browser. Thanks for your suggestions.

you don't have to reformat your computer. just install antivirus apps i highly recommend norton antivirus 2005 or later because it has a blockign mechanism for virus to change the program properties of your pc. before you install the antivirus type disconnect your pc from the internet, type msconfig to show the system configuration and disable at start up menu programs you suspect are virus. scan your pc and when finished install registry mechanic to repair the registry. try it if it works.

Well if its a website or web application, try turning off the net or disconnecting it. Then use anti-virus and anti-malware software on your computer. If this can't be done, then you have to reformat and start over. Make sure to get a good anti-virus, good anti-spyware, firewall, realtime spyware protection, site/link advisor. Be sure to browse the net using a regular profile instead of an admin level profile since several viruses, malware and hijack attempts depend on this. You can also look into getting Drop My Rights so you can make any program just effect its own folders and not main folders.

Your mistake was downloading the serial. Downloads from serial sites are 100% (for me) malware. I use serials from such only if it is written on the page itself.
