What is the origin of Life?

Origin of Life? I believe there are two views on the matter - creationist view and evolutionist view. according to the creationist, God created created the world and all livings things in 7 days, while the evolutionist believe that we (or other animals) evolved from simple organisms which process took place millions and billions of years ago. I believe the creationists and evolutionists are having their world war III in view of their contrasting views. Now answer me this. If you believe the evolutionist's theory, living things came from a non living things. Can a rock, or a mixture of elements or a combination thereof, create a living thing (or even a single cell organism) in a lapse of million billion billion years? this is quite hard to believe if you ask me. eneway their debate is quite intense.
