How much money do you spend on books a month or a week? I really do not spend a lot on books unless its one I must have now.I usually go to the Library or do trade sites or amazon.com or ebay and I go to the library book sale every summer and usually buy a sackful for cheap.

Like you, I mostly haunt the library for recently published books. I always wonder how people can afford to by every hardback edition of an author they like. For books to own, I rely solely on my local used bookstore. It is a great place to trade and buy books. The owner chooses a novel way (yes it's a pun and I'm not sorry) to trade books. Any books brought in are applied to credit across the board, so you can use that credit to get books in any genre, not just in the genre of the books you brought in. In this way I have been expanding my library readily. Somehow though I usually still end up spending about $20 to $30 a month on used books. Every now and then I will purchase something hot off the presses as a treat to myself but these occasions are rare and it has to be something I plan on keeping for a long long time.

I probably spend about $25 a month on books for myself... and probably about $25 for my girls. I love to read, but unfortunately our library does not have a good selection of new books, only old ones... I like the current authors. I tend to pick up a book at least once a week when I'm at Walmart for about $6... so about 4 a month would equal around $25 a month. My girls can't find anything they like at Walmart, so I order theirs a lot through Amazon.com. They don't read as much as I do, and they also both read books that are assigned to them in school, so I don't spend quite as much on them.
