I have been noticing a TV advertisement for Allstate Automobile Insurance where the nice guy says if you have not had an accident or submitted a claim in X amount of months (I think it is 6 months) you get a monetary reward. So I called today to see what the deal was as I have never had a accident or submitted a claim in the 30 years I have had my policy with them. To my surprise I was told that to qualify I would need to change my policy to a new one which is more expensive than the full coverage I already pay a fortune for!!! I told them that the TV ad did not come across that it would end up costing more and the lady I spoke with agreed! Is this false advertising? What do you think?

They sure stretch the truth or actually they omit the truth and only tell part of the story..That's advertizing...They are just baiting people..And maybe for newer drivers it might save them money..You are stll paying way less then the guy that gets a new licence today... It is still alot of money! oxxoxoxoox

Lots of industries use this approach, like ATT, where I get my Yahoo, or is it SBC, I cannot keep it straight anymore. I just know that I am supposed to get one rate, and one type of bundle, but I end up with services I do not want. Cable is like that as well. I do think you are doing a few people a favor posting it here about Allstate, though. The commercials make them seem like very nice people.

Ive done a lot of inn shoping. I found they were too expensive for me and after the katrina huricane I will never use them. Better insurance and cheaper out there just look.
