Would you marry a dog if an Astrologer told you it would ward off your curses?

Selvakumar married the sari-draped former stray named Selvi, chosen by family members and then bathed and clothed for the ceremony Sunday at a Hindu temple in the southern state of Tamil Nadu, the Hindustan Times newspaper said. Selvakumar, 33, told th world he had been suffering since he stoned two dogs to death and hung their bodies from a tree 15 years ago. "After that my legs and hands got paralyzed and I lost hearing in one ear," he said in the report. An astrologer had told Selvakumar the wedding was the only way he could cure the maladies. It did not say whether his situation had improved. Deeply superstitious people in rural India sometimes organize weddings to dogs and other animals, believing it can ward off certain curses. Selvakumar sat next to the dog, which was wearing an orange sari and a flower garland. The groom and his family enjoyed a feast, while the dog got a bun.

Does anyone know if the wedding night went well? LOL Mind you, I wouldn't mind marrying my goldfish if an astrologer told me that it was going to make me rich. We should always believe astrologers. After all they have foreseen that Australia would disappear under the sea in a massive cataclysm -- but not before England has regained the Ashes, so there's still time!

That was one agenda I was waiting for, but the source appears to be silent on this-all they talk about is a feast, with the bride eating a bun-I guess there was a wedding night LOL, Thanks for your response Thomas

Things like these happen a lot. I had read that a girl was married to a banyan tree or it was peepal but she was married of as astrologers predicted that her first husband will die soon after her marriage. I was wondering how will she get divorced from the tree? Astrologers have been prdicting India becoming super power too for ages-does anyone know if its going to come true?

Yucks, I think these astrologers are some kind of weirdos and they just get a kick out of making people live out their weired fnatasies.

No, but I'm not an animal abuser anyway. If he believed so much about curse then there are many ways to ward it off, like feeding and taking care of strayed animals. It's like he did something wrong and therefore cursed, so he could do something good to ward it off. It works with me before, but not about animal abuse and I don't end up marrying animals

I won't get married to a dog as dogs and humans are two absolutely different creatures that cannot be considered to be the same kind. Yes, I read the title of the news about the guy getting married to the dog, but I didn't go into details for it. Anyway, there can be anything that is so weird in the world, which is common though. Thanks for your discussion, dear academic friend.
