I was just sitting here looking around at the house and seeing what needs to be done before my daughter gets home from school. I got the laundry going and the dishes are washed and i noticed that the living room carpet needs to be vaccumed AGAIN. i literally just vaccummed while she was in her shower last night.! i vacummed the living room the hallway and her room. and it barely looks like it! how often do you vaccum your carpets? when you vaccumn one carpet do you make a trip to vaccum up the rest of the house as well or do you do one room chores at a time?

I vacuum about once a week. Sometimes I have to pull out the vacuum midweek if my dog decide to rip something apart that makes a mess. Usually if I'm going to vacuum one room I figure I may as well do the whole house. It doesn't really take that long and it does look much cleaner when the carpets are done.

I don't vaccumn here. This isn't actually my house, we live with my fiance's parents. However, when we do get our own place I'll probably be using some carpet freshener every once in awhile to keep the carpets smelling and looking fresh. Shampooing it after every season too probably. Lol, I guess it all depends on what I have time to do when we do own our own house.

Hi. beutfulmama6701. I know how you feel. It is the same here with my household too. I usually like to vacuum every couple of days or so. But with my kids, I tend to vacuum everyday. I have to. When I constantly tell my kids not to put paper or food on my living room floor, somehow these things end up on the floor anyway. The rules are for them to eat in the kitchen, but they break this rule each and every time. When I vacuum one floor, I will vacuum any other floors if it needs vacuuming.

I don't have ant carpets right now. My youngest daughter has an allergy to dust and there is nothing worse than a carpet to gather dust. When I had carpets I had to throughally vaccuum them everyday and my daughter was still plaged with allergies and had to use allergy medication and puffers (you know the inhalers for astmatics). Since I got rid of the carpets she rarely has allergery reations( she hasn't had to take allergy medication in ages) and has come completely off the puffers. I would never go back to using carpets again. I have beeen able to use those area rugs, the type that are thin and flat and mats at the door in winter but these need to be vaccuumed every day.
