2003 Hyndai Elantra - really stupid question

This will probably be the stupidest question you've come across but I need help. My daughter just bought a 2003 Hyundai Elantra and we can't figure out how to open the hood. Is there an inside release? Can't find it. Also can't find the release that's usually under the front of the hood. Call us stupid, but please help.

Yes, there should be a release lever inside the car on the left of the driver, under the dashboard. Once you pull that, you go to the front of the car and finish opening the seam of the hood by sliding your fingers until you feel a catch, then releasing the catch, near the center. If you bend down and look, you should see it under the dashboard.
