obviously...The Ricky Ponting No doubt to dis... he is jst simply the back bone of Aussies middle order... and he knows all the skills of playin both spin and fast bowling attack. Milestones shows everything about him! expereince is the most important factor in cricket .. he is jack of all Winning 2 SUCCESSIVE WORLD CUPS as a captain is a great achievement..He lead his team in such a way that they always urges to win! their aggression says all! AS far as leading role of team he shows the consistent performance with the bat also ... always ready for his team mates in field and remains very attentive in field! So HAIL RICKY!!!

I think the best batsman for australia is ricky ponting.as you mentioned different players they all have different roles to play.adam gilchrist is known to attack bowlers and thats the way he plays.now coming to mathew hayden he is a conventional batsmen with mostly orthodox strokes.talking about hussey he is more a brilliant finisher.even he is a great batsman with great character.now what makes ricky ponting the best is he plays all these roles when the team needs him to be.i just appreciate his flexibility of batting.he never lets his team down whenever the team needs him.he has been a consistent performer for years and i think at present he is the best.

As you said Australia is the best team currently. Each Player contributes their part correctly to their team. That's the reason they are winning the game. At present, Clarke and Symonds are in good form. And also the experienced players like Ponting,Gilchrist,Hayden doing their job at right time. One of the thing we have to note is that Only in Australian Team, the New Comers will definetly shine in their debut itself. In that path, now Phil Jaques entered into Australian Team.
