consumerism, greed,,false sense of ego are the root causes of tension in the present conditions prevailing now a days in the society.nowadays many people long for accumulating wealth for their comforts and for this they adopt unfair means.a sense of ego develops with them as they possess luxurious assets which others do not.here the haves and have-nots clash and this results in increasing tension and in this clash the unsuccessful people falls in the trap of deep depression.so people should try to change their nature.to live a happy life such people should try to convert unpleasentness in their nature into something pleasent.

I think individuals can change, but people as in a group is more difficult. People have a tendency to think in pack mentality. This can affect how others think and behave in the long run at times.

no! the nature cannot be changed some may stress that its an enviromentally altered factor, but please note that its also genetically controlled! and genes cannot be altered you cannot mutate all the genes of all cells so! nature never changes!

I do agree with you. If one satisfy himself with what he has or what he can earn, the problem of depression may not arise. Apart from this there are many reasons that cause depression. In some cases it is very difficult to find the reason. But any depression can be changed if a person stick to human nature. What is the main thing in human nature --- it is to be "more optimistic" and being calm(not reacting to unwanted things). Both can be aviled by way of practiseing Meditation. One should meditate atleast for half an hour in a day to control his evil thoughts.

I think that people, or human nature, can change, but that people have to want to change, and that's where the major problem lays. Many people are happy living the way they are. It often takes a major, or tragic event, to realise that there is more to life than money and possessions. So while it's possible for change to occur, I think that it's unlikely that entire populations will change the way that they're currently living.

I fear that human nature being what it is there is little likelihood major change will take place. More and more people who are in the know are telling us we are in for a big fall but, in the larger sense, nothing is changing. There are some governments that are now looking to alternate methods of power. All very expensive and all will take years to implement. With gasoline at record highs there seems to be little to no concern. Is it that people have convinced themselves that the only thing that is happening is the oil companies are lining their pockets and they do not believe their is an oil shortage? It happened before so no reason to believe it is not happening again. The world is more than ever before relying on oil to make it go. Only this time there are many more countries involved. We went through a shortage in the seventies. People believed it then and moved to smaller cars. But all of a sudden it improved and slowly people begin moving back to the big vehicles. And today it is an exception to find one a small car on the road. We will act only after the fact. It is human nature. "Well I would but what can I do, it should be the government that makes it happen." Wrong...it is all of us...each and every one and we must do everything we can right now. We have only one earth. We destroy it and we destroy ourselves.

You know I have been thinking about that too. The problem is if we wanna change someone or the person want to change by himself. I think human nature can change, but ahve to put a lot of work to it. And I am sure it will go through many fases since the would really change. also there is a thing like changing habbits. And that can be real problam for some individuals, but when you want something you can do it.
