Yes it's true.
I am the 7th Generation to Captain James Cook, I have a aunty who did a family tree and also had a book published with the proof.
I just watched a documentary on him on tv on Aussie TV. It was really interesting watching the doco because he is family.
Does anyone else have famous people in there blood line?

Very cool! It would be neat to find out I was related to someone famous but I doubt it. My last name is Newman and I wish I was realeted to the Newman who is one every movie credit. I think he does music. He must be a millionair by now. His name is on every movie I have ever watched. To bad Im not related!

thanks for all your replys, my dad told me when I was a little girl that he was my great uncle, but it was proven when I was an adult when my aunty did the research.

p.s. just for a laugh, the navigation bit, I did not inherent his ability as I always get lost if I go to the other side of the city, let alone across the oceans. haha. :D
