AO Rated Video Games

Since Rockstar games have tried bringing out their newest game Manhunt 2 which was orginally suppose to be rated AO(Adults Only) Sony and Nintendo wouldn't accept it so Rockstar had to redo the game down to M(Mature) Rating. Why is there a AO rating when nobody will support it? Games have ratings for the protection of younger people. Having a AO rated game on your console system doesn't make you a bad company, it just means your open to all age groups. AO rated games whould just have to be age purchased (18+) just like M rated games. Would you purchase a AO rated game?

I think the AO rating should be banned indefinitely. If almost all retail outlets wont sell AO games then whats the point of even having such a rating? Thats like selling a NC-17 movie at Toys R Us, its just never gonna happen. Then again there's always the possibility of online sales, even though I dont believe the revenue of online sales is gonna support the developers and publishing company for the creation of the game.

You know, I never see any at all. Most of the time I see it going like the M rated games but that's about as high as it goes. I guess it's because that want any and all people to buy a game and the Adult Rating really limits on what you can get. Then again, they do sell M Rated games and that does limit as well. I guess it has to do with the stores or something.

I know Nintendo won't accept an AO rated game but Sony come on. I saw a game for the playstation 2 that is rated AO. I think it is that Larry game and that playboy mansion game. I think Nintendo is like BlockBuster and don't accept Adult Materials. So far there hasn't been a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd party game for any Nintendo console that has an AO rating. I know a lot of stores like Walmart and Target don't sell AO games. AO games are intended to be only for Adults. I heard that in Japan they have many AO rated games. I think its called Bishojo games or something like that.
