How do you get the oldest sibling to stop kissing the youngest one so much?

My oldest keeps kissing my youngest baby to death. Gosh, every time I turn around the oldest goes straight to kissing the youngest one. When I ask her to stop, she tells me that I don't love her and that I don't want her to love her sibling. Both my daughters are my life and they bring out the warmest feelings inside me. On my darkest days they are my light and I tell them that and show them that. But it breaks my heart to hear her say that to me at such a young age. Do you have this problem with your children and if you do what have you done to resolve the problem?

Hey cartoon, I like the way your older kids is affectionate to the younger one. I have seen my sister's kids fight each other because of jealous which is not a good picture. The best thing for you to do is talk to your older daughter in a polite way and tell her not to kiss the baby too hard because it is painful and that is why baby wakes up. Tell her to kiss the baby when it is not sleeping, only when the baby is up and playing. You can also buy her dolls to keep her bus when the small baby is asleep. it seems that she gets bored when the other is asleep. That is my two cents. Happy posting.

Thank you dear for your advice. I tried talking to her but she just loves the little one way too much. She rather get hit sent to the corner or have no entertainment than not kiss her younger sibling. I asked her and that was her answer to me LOL...

I'll tell you what I would do -- I'd hug and kiss and squish the oldest one in the same manner that she's doing to the little one! My oldest daughter does the same thing to my youngest. The first week we brought the youngest one home, the oldest would give her these "eating kisses", where she opens her mouth wide and presses her lips very hard on the little one's cheek. It got so bad the first day that the little one learned to sleep with one or both arms covering her face!

LOL...that is wonderful that the two siblings care so much for one another. I was told that it is good that the oldest care and love the youngest one that much....

Hello cartoon, anyway how old your oldest is, you can teach her how to kiss properly her young sister, you can tell her that if she kiss smooth & show to her, tell her that sister will not cry if she kiss like mom & dad do & love her more like mom & dad, you will see how she will react & follow how you kiss her sister do it not only once but twice, you kids will learn that to you. kids can easly catcth up what big do. wiish you luck

Hello. I hope you won't stop her from kissing the youngest. I mean, she really might be that affectionate. Just tell her to kiss gently so that the baby won't get hurt. Your eldest is a sweety. :)
