fly infestation of ac unit

Hi my window ac has become infested with flies!..i think it has something to do with the fact that ive got pigeons roosting on top of theac ..or on the floor above so that their droppings fall below on top of my ac ...and or something .. i dont know how the flies manage to gt inside the ac ..and then they come into the room through the ac vent!..i really dont know what to do im in desperate need of help and advice! please help me
