Last year around this same time I was at the Computer telling everyone at Mylot, "Happy Thanks Giving" No joke, I have been here a year. so I remember very well doing this, I want everyone to have a Safe Holiday, and don't eat to much -TURKEY- They say Turkey makes you sleepy, have you ever heard that, I was in a Group Discussion, and someone said that yesterday, I even hear it on the Today Show. So tell me you plans for the Holiday, I knoe you have some. Ok, lets hear it. These will be fun! Ok,We are going about 120 mi. from where I live to visit My Girl-friend. She lives in another part of Ohio. And she can really cook good.

Happy thanks Giving to you anyway! Yes that is going to be hard, not eating so much, I didn't know you didn't celibrate in Australia, The U.K, doesn't celebriate either, maybe other Countries to, but I didn't know that those 2 Countries didn't. Is like another day? we I guess it is, if you said so. God Bless you and your Family.

Thanks Giving is an American holiday. I believe it is based around the first settlements and how people were thankful for the abundance of food and resources around and for the way the Natives were accepting of the white people.

Hey Marcie, Yeah I have been here a year now also, last year at this time I remember all the discussions about food, what a great year it has been ... this year I am not cooking, we are headed to relatives houses that are going to cook, so it will be a nice break. Enjoy yours with your girlfriend.

I've just checked and I've been here a year too! Time flies when you are having fun. haha We have good reason outside the USA to be thankful for the grit and determination of those early settlers to maintain a presence in the New World. Happy Thanks Giving to you all and enjoy your holiday with friends and family. smacksman

Hey Marciascott, Happy Thanksgiving to you too. I am off today, but go back to work tommorrow and Thursday(sadly), and I'm trying to take care of some stuff today so I won't be so crazy tommorrow trying to cook and all. I have to work Thursday, and I truly love Thanksgiving Day. I love to sit and watch the Macy's Parade(I'm a native of New York City)which is a tradition for me, but hopefully, I can get that taped. My mom went up to my brother and his family in Indiana, so my daughters and I along with my youngest daughter friend, and hopefully this guy from work will be having Thanksgiving dinner.

Wishing you a wonderful thanksgiving as well, Marcie =) Sure would love to eat turkey right now--hehe even if it makes one sleepy--I think I've heard something similar but applies to chicken--something to do with lectins (a substance that sort of clumps the cells & makes you fatter & more lethargic) or something about them poultry...anyhow, a little bit won't hurt, right? Let's indulge a bit during the holidays! As for us in the Philippines, we don't generally celebrate it here since its origin doesn't apply to us but some do & I guess generally being thankful for what we have in life is the message, right? So right now, I am thankful for friends like you in Mylot which make my online days a wholelot better =)! Happy eating & enjoy your thanksgiving =)!

Congratulations on celebrating your anniversary on mylot! I haven't quite made it yet. I thought that it was just going to be my family of three, but learned tonight that my sister-in-law is on the road with her husband and daughter and they plan on stopping in. Darn it! And I thought my shopping was over. Not that I don't enjoy her and her family, but my shopping was done and now I have to go get what will be left over when had I known, I could have bought a more appropriate-sized bird! Anyway, hope you have a safe trip and a wonderful Turkey Day!
