believed that a teacher can make or break a child because if the teacher taught wrong infromation on the child he/she will carry it through his/her adulthood...and can even pass it on through generations....

I agree that in the formative years (age 4-8) a teacher is the most influential, outside of parents, role model a child has; therefore what the teacher teaches and how she teaches it is very crucial to fashioning bright intelligent students. But sometimes it is not the teacher that is wrong but rather the system and the textbooks offered by the system for the teacher to use that are already geared to having the teacher fail her job because she reads misconstrued information. Textbooks are altogether different than the newspaper, internet, television and radio--written to teach a little bit of corruption, discouragement, oppression, hate, violence, depression, sexism, racism, ageism, (all the other negative isms) but not the truth to so many different things we should know in our youth through young adulthood. The teachers struggle with what they are allowed to teach and that is where the problem begins yet hopefully does not end there and individuals like you who show a concern, might change that stupid system ! Yeah, that's very true. A teacher can make or break a student. So, the role of a teacher is very important to a student. It's true that its not only the lessons we impart where it has permanent impact. But, most importantly, are the values that will help a child/pupil/student in his/her holistic individuality. I think as a teacher, this is the greatest role we should be paying attention, where to help a child become a responsible and good christian, where eventually he/she will apply in dealing with other people especially to his/her own family.

I believe teachers have the power to make or break a child. Teachers have tremendous influence over their students. You can break a child not by necessarily teaching him wrong things but something as simple as ridiculing a student in front of his classmates can have permanent damage on that person's self esteem and this will consequently affect all his relationships. On the other hand, a simple praise might go a long way in boosting a child's morale. Just a simple compliment can make that kid a little more confident; that confidence will be of great advantage to the kid as he grows up.
