The traditional Thanksgiving was to celebrate the Native Americans and the Pilgrims having a meal together to celebrate the harvest. It did not have turkey and all the things we do today. I'm not sure how the turkey became part of the meal. I think now days each family celebrates Thanksgiving a little differently and has their own special traditions. For my family it is just a day to spend together playing games, talking, and enjoying a wonderful feast.
