Thanksgiving?, why do Americans celebrate Thanksgiving other countries don't

What's the story behind Thanksgiving in America. How come USA celebrate Thanksgiving and other countries do not? Anyone know the answer?

The story behind Thanksgiving is that the settlers of the original Jamestown were starving the first winter they were in America. The Native Americans that lived in the same area brought them food and shared a meal with them. That is why we have Thanksgiving. We are thankful that the Native Americans shared their food with us that first winter the settlers were here on America. We didn't show them any kindness later and perhaps they should have let the settlers starve that first winter, but still that is the story and why Thanksgiving is celebrated only in US, its and event and story that is particular to our country.

Thanks for the info. Yes I agree with you, there were some injustices done on the Native Americans, but I think the Americans are now doing something about it. Thanks for the response and have a nice day.
