Who is the Greatest Horror Character?

I LOVE Horror movies, unfortunately todays horror films are just gory (see Saw, Hostil), or dumb (see House of Wax). A great horror story needs a great bad guy.
My favorite all time bad guy is Freddy Kruger. The premise of the orignal Nightmare on Elm St. was great a bad guy that gets you when you're sleeping. Are you kidding me, that's gold. Everyone has to sleep.
His burned pizza fac and that hat, and dingy sweater scary, not to mention his razor blade hand.
The best was the song:
"One, two Freddys coming for you
Three, four better lock the door
Five, six grab your crucifix
Seven, eight gonna stay up late
Nine, ten never sleep again"
This song is etched in my memory, that's how much it scared me.
I know, what you're thinking they started getting stupid after #501 but the origninal was pure genius.

The greatest horror character is Freddy Kruger. I absolutely love him. As a child , he was really scary. The razor blade fingers are the greatest. What really make him the best is
that he can get you through you dreams. I love it! Don't fall asleep.
