Learning to crochet or knit.

Does anyone know of good sites for learning to crochet or knit? I know the basics, but I need help with the little details, like which is the right side and wrong side? And should I go through both loops of a stitch in crochet? I have trouble with these little details when trying to find a pattern. I would love to find a site to help answer these questions, preferably one with video demos or tutorials of techniques.

Hi i'm quite new to knitting and although my mum can knit it's nice to teach yourself. Here is a really good site for you, if you put lion brand in your search engine it will come up with a site that not only teaches you to knit and crochet. It also has loads of free patterns. Another for free and easy patterns is knitting pattern central. both of these sites are fantastic. Good luck

I fortunately have a friend that teaches me how to crochet. But I haven't done anything in over a year. I also only know the basics.

Have you tried amazon.com for any how-to videos or your local high school for night classes? Even your local sewing stores should have clasees. I think it's better to learn from someone who can watch you and correct any problems you are having or answer your questions in person. Good luck!
