how long does it take you to concole yourself after your pet died?

some people take a few days, or maybe longer to do that. i remember when i was very young, my dog died of old age and i thought i'll never recover myself from this depression...:P soon, i learned that dogs have shorter lifespan than human being and that's life. So i got myself a young puppy and started a new friendship. and today, i decided to keep a young turtle in the aquarium as my pet for its lifespan is much longer.
