Have you ever had something that really amazed you with how good it was? My brother was here from New Jersey for Thanksgiving and he always gets some goodies for us when he's here, including chips and ice cream, stuff I don't spend a whole lot of money on normally and this time he got a carton of Turkey Hill Rum Raisin. I tried it not really knowing what to expect; I mean, I thought it would be "OK" but from my first bite I was in heaven. Talk about decadently delicious...OK, I know that probably isn't really a word, or is it? Anyway, it was to die for! So, how about it, have you ever been very pleasantly surprised at how good something tasted? Annie

Hmmm this sounds interesting, I have never had this flavor and I like most ice-creams, I used to really licorice ice cream but it is hard to get these days, I will have to look out for this one and try it...

I saw a cook on television making some, he just slowly melted licorce in a small pot then when it cooled a bit he mixed in with ordinary vanilla icecream...so maybe you could make your own and try it...

Thanks for the tip! I seriously might just give it a try. At least they do sell licorice around here. Annie

I;ve never had licorice ice cream, but I love licorice so I'll have to look for it. I'll never find it in this one-horse town! Annie

I have never tasted Rum Raisin ice cream. I will have to try it. I was amazed the first time that I tried Rasberry Sorbet ice cream. They say that it is better for you than regular ice cream. It is a little pricey, but very very good. I was shocked, I thought that it would have some kind of sweetner substitute taste to it, but it was really delicious.

I'll bet that is good. I love raspberry ice cream and if this is better for you I'll have to try it. I looked for the rum raisin at the store tonight and couldn't find any! That really hurts when I find something I really like and then can't find it when I want more. When my brother got it he said it was the only package there, so it was probably a mistake...lol...here in my small town people don't have very "sophisticated taste" if you know what I mean and run raisin might be too "exotic" for them. Try "Baskin Robins," (31 flavors) they might have it there. If they don't, I am sure you can find something just as good or maybe better, LOL.

I found Rum Raisin on the regional flavors list at Baskin Robins. Don't quite know what that means, but call them. Look here for their list of flavors http://www.baskinrobbins.com/IceCream/. Rum Raisin is near the bottom.

I wish I'd have had it years ago because I feel like I've wasted far too much time never having had it! Annie

When I was a kid, my mom always used to have green tea ice cream. I thought it was disgusting, but when I tried it for the first time, it was great. It lead me to become a green tea drinker too.
