If Gary Kirsten is selected as the coach for the Indian cricket team,it remains to be seen whether the selection is appropriate or not. Gary Kirsten was a good batsman and played many tests for south africa. But when it comes to coaching, it is altogether a different game. A good coach should study the minds of all the players, should move well with the players, and have a good temperament too. Does Gary have all these qwualiies? We should wait and see.

I really doubt that as he does not have any previous coaching experience at all and some of the senior players in indian team have in fact played against him some years back and i doubt he can command respect from those players and even junior players because of his age. There was also another controversy going on in tv that he had actually complained a lot about india on his first tour to india and i don't know he is going to enjoy the same india now!?

I thik gary kirsten would be a good coach.i really doubt if at present coach has bigger role than a coordinator in our team since our team is performing well without the coach.i really wonder how is he going to perform.

I think that the selection is not appropriate. India does not need a batting coach but needs a bowling coach. India is considered as one of the strongest batting sides in the world but India's bowling attack has struggled a lot in the last 3-4 years after the departure of Srinath and few good bowlers from the Indian team. So, i think that India should have gone with a bowling coach.

The only thing that worries me is South Africans have never been comfortable with spin and I don think Gary can help in that quarter . But i think his batting inputs will do good to the players .
