Did you feel like you got a promotion or demotion when you became a mom?

How did you feel when your children were born? When you became a mom, did you feel as if you had received a promotion to a more lofty and valuable position? Or, did it make you feel as if you'd taken a step down from a more high powered, high paying job into a more vulnerable role? Personally, I felt as if I'd received a promotion when I became a mom. Becoming a mom was a step up from my previous life. Before my daughter came along, I was very irresponsible with money and not interested in success. All that changed when she arrived. I began to take a more active role in big family decisions, like money making; where to live; how money was spent; etc. How did it make you feel?

I had been through 8 Miscarraiges and 2 tubal pregnacies and raised 3 children that belonged to someone else before becomin a MOM finally at age 35. I felt like I had won the lottery, everything was brighter and there was nothing that I couldn't do or was out of my reach once I had my little boy. There is not greater satisfaction in life than becoming a mother!

i admire you a lot for being able to get through those trials and hardships before finally having your own kid. you are definitely an inspiration to women (and couples) who are almost giving up on trying to have children. god bless you and your little boy!

definitely promoted! i've always known i'd be a mom someday, evrsince i was young. i love children and when i got married, next on my agenda was getting pregnant. luckily, my husband likes to have kids asap too. but i didn't get pregnant at once. we had to wait 4 months before hte 2 lines on the pregnancy test appeared. i couldn't believe it and i was crying tears of joy when it did happen. now my first born son is 5 years old and my daughter is 1 year and 7 months old. i feel our family is complete now and there's nothing i want more. :)
