How many Mylot friends do you have?

Do you wish you had more Mylot friends? I have 75 friends here at Mylot now, and I could use a few more. I usually make few friends request, in general to people that I like the way they think, but I also accept all friends requests here at Mylot. I believe the more the merrier! What about you? Do you make a lot of friends requests or do you just wait for people to find you?

I don't have nearly as many as some people here, but I have a total of 34 friends. I'm picky with my friend choices, I have to 'know' them or know that they have the same interests as I do. I'm also a bit skeptical, so maybe that's why I only have 34 friends...LOL

Well, I feel honored now that I know how picky you are, thank you Nica! I usually accept all friends requests, until they do something I don't like, like becoming aggresive to other members or such... but I keep few private messages, and only two mylotters have my email (one being you, of course) =)

I have close to 600. I think that's too many. It's gotten to the point where I can't find posts by the people I really want to talk to, and I don't use email notifications because I check mylot more often than my email. :P I do like having friends, and I accept ALMOST all friend requests. The only ones I don't accept are the ones from people who have already done something to seriously offend me, which basically requires writing something very full of hatred and bigotry. I accept more requests than I make. I do occasionally make one, if someone really impresses me though. :) Just today I went through and deleted some of my old friends who hadn't been on in over 9 months. I figured after that much inactivity, a person probably isn't coming back.

Yes, 600 is a lot of people! But it's nice!! I do use email notifications, and then enter mylot to look for new discussions, not necessarily my friends' ones. And deleting the inactive ones seems like a good idea. Not that I need it yet, because I don't have that many friends, ha ha ha, but I'll keep that in mind if I'm ever overflowed! So, will I make 601?

Haha, I said close to 600, not 600 exactly. I think it's something like 592. But you're welcome to be my friend all the same. :)

I have around 200 mylotians as friends and of this 20% of them regularly reciprocate my response with their response to my topic. Remaining passive receivers of responses. I used to clean up this section every month by deleting atleast 50 friends a month who are not at all posting either discussions or responses.

You are right. If they cannot respond to my topics it is alright. It is not a big issue. Simply they see some user i.d. and become member. for Months, they do not post discussion topics. What is fund in displaying their avatars in my friends pool if they are not involved. I endorse your decision.

You're so well organised! I should start deleting inactive friends... no hurt feelings, but if they don't post anymmore, what's the point?

I'm really not sure how many friends I have right now on mylot. I think I have around 80. I requested a few people as friends in the begining but people just kept adding me. I pretty much say yes to anyone unless I find them rude or ignorant. I think that was only one person. I really only pay attention to a handful of friends posts though.

If I see someone has an interesting response to one of my discussion I will check their profile page. If they have quite a few discussions I can respond to, I will request their friendship. I also check their profiles on the ones that request my friendship, before I approve them. In my opinion, there is no use having friends on your list that you have nothing in common with. I like to have friends that have the same interests as me so that they are wrinting discussions I like and can add to. I have just 45 friends right now and as I am posting this I see I have 4 friend requests to check out and decide if I am going to accept them or not.

Yes, I agree with you Chris, there's no point in having friends if you have nothing in common... but I do have something in common, as a matter of fact, I enjoy most of my friends' discussions! Thank you for sharing!

Seventeen is a good number to keep a close eye on them and their discussions... I sometimes get lost with mine...

I requests friends, but I do the same that I do when accepting friends - i'm picky, so I don't request anyone, I have to have SOMETHING in common with them.

i think i have close to 120 on my list and everyone is "notify on" so i get my email flooded with new discussions notification but i don't mind because i have opened a separate email solely for mylot. But i only reply to discussion that interest me :-)

I do just the same, Bong_domingo, I have a separate folder (not an entire email, come think of it) and all notify on. Then I choose which discussions I'm interested in and I reply those, or leave them in my email to reply later, and erase those that are not so interesting (or that I have nothing useful to say, let's face the truth) LOL!!

It's good to make friends in here, this way you get notified of interesting discussions and you don't have to search like crazy... Well, welcome, and happy posting, I hope you enjoy mylot like we do, and earn some money too! =)
