Good methods to come up with topics?

I just think about things from my life. Things that have happened to me recently, the view from my window, anything. Occasionally I post poems, because there are several people here who have said they enjoy my poetry. I think about discussions I've had with people offline and what questions they brought up as well, or ask for further opinions from mylotters. I've noticed that it doesn't matter quite as much what you're writing about as that you really get into it and write a decent discussion starter.
