Warning...Phishing e- mails

I wish to inform fellow Mylotters of disturbing mail I received over the past week. It seems there are people attempting to obtain personal information by pretending to be PayPal: I sent the "Phony mail" to PayPal for confirmation and did get the following response. This has become a growing problem. I have forwarded several of them to paypal. Not only are these using paypal's name but also credit cards too. Then of course there is always the letters from Nigeria and the you have one sweepstakes etc. I cant believe people fall for these things. I has become more serious since they are going after credit cards and bank accounts now too. Even the IRS has had to warn people because letters are showing up in e-mails with the IRS logo and stuff. We all need to be careful.

thanks for that information about paypal.i have similar e-mails from my bank,commonwealth saying that i have had many failed attempts to access my net bank and could i log on etc.i contacted the bank and they definately did not send them,i also sent them the e-mail to their hoax line.it is really sad that there is so many scams and fraudulent things happening on the net,we have to be so careful,and it is great that people like yourself share that info with us.cheers

Thanks for the warning.. Its great to know that people look out for each other here.. I think that it is a bad sight for people to scam you out of a lot of money. Or even try to.
