What Animal Welfare groups do you support?

Even if you don't donate any money, what Animal Welfare or Animal Rights groups do you support? I personally support the Humane Society of the United States, The Hooved Animal Humane Society, as well as numerous rescues and shelters around my area. I started this discussion after answering a question on here about Peta, a group that I used to, but will no longer support after doing some reasearch. I agree with a lot of their ideas, but most of them are ridiculous. I don't eat meat, wear fur, or intentionally abuse animals...and I don't use any products that are in any way tested on animals...but my Pit Bulls are something I won't compromise on, and Peta wants them all euthanised, along with any other pet in a shelter who can't find a home! They also believe that no one should have pets of any kind, because they think, among other reasons, that it's cruel to teach an animal when it is "allowed" to go to the bathroom! Come on! Does that mean that I should let my son go to the bathroom, no matter where he is, just because he gets the urge to go? We "train" ourselves where and when to go, so what's the problem? I believe they only care about money and celebrity backing, and I think that's wrong. It should be about the animals. Not about how many famous people you can get cash from. What are your opinions?

I don't particularly support PETA, I think they're a little too radical. But I do love animals and wild life conservation. I'd rather support things like the humane society or the Irwins' conservation group.
